The bizarre but effective tactic has sales to women up by 213%.
“Freshness Burger” is a national hamburger chain with several locations around Japan.
They recently noticed that their largest burger, the “Classic Burger,” while very popular with men, was the one least chosen by women.
They soon realized that the reason for this might be that in Japan, small mouths (or “Ochobo”) are considered attractive…
“Ochobo” also means that it is considered well-mannered to cover one’s mouth while opening it in public.
And therefore, while men were comfortable opening their mouths wide enough to eat the large Classic Burger…
Women were self conscious about doing the same.
As a solution, Freshness Burger devised the “Liberation Wrapper,” a burger wrapper that doubles as a face-mask.
The mask wrapper allows women to enjoy the Classic Burger without compromising on Ochobo.
Just one month after its implementation, sales of the Classic Burger to women were up by 213%.
The chain believes they have freed women from “the spell of Ochobo.”

Forget cat cafes. Or blackcat cafes. Or penguin bars. Japan’s latest novelty cafe is the “fukurou cafe” (フクロウカフェ), or the “owl cafe.”
Owl cafes like Fukurou no Mise (“Owl Shop”) and Tori no Iru Cafe (“The Cafe with Birds”) started getting noticed online in Japan late last year.
This summer saw more owl cafes open, and currently there are owl cafes like Fukurou Sabou (“Owl Teahouse”) in Tokyo, Owl Family in Osaka, and Crew, another owl cafe in Osaka, among others.
Everything look owl-ish.
The owl cafes vary. Some of the cafes even serve owl-themed snacks. Some of them allow you to hold the birds while you drink coffee, while others have much stricter rules about handling then animals.
But before you think owl cafes are the greatest thing ever, here’s what one U.K. owl sanctuary has to say about keeping the animals as pets: “Our basic advice to those who may be considering keeping an owl as a pet is — DON’T.” The sanctuary added that they’re noisy, smelly, and warned that, yes, they can be dangerous. So, maybe don’t bring little kids to these cafes?
Then, there’s the fact that these are nocturnal animals, awake during the day for the customers… Maybe, they’re on a different sleeping rhythm, but still, I wouldn’t want someone screwing up my sleep schedule.
This is the ペンギンのいるBar known as Bar that has penguins. Which is located in central Tokyo, Japan.
We don't know how good the food and drinks is or whether does it provide value for money.
All we do know is that IT HAS LIVE PENGUINS THAT YOU CAN LOOK AT WHILE YOU DRINK.
Hoping that those penguins has enough space and comfort inside
Why does Japan always have those animal cafe/pubs. Their creativity level are..
This is the Tomamu Resort, which sits on the island of Hokkaido, Japan.
No, this isn’t what heaven looks like (although I assume it’s close). This view was actually taken from the top of a Japanese hotel, where anyone can book a room. You might want to avoid it, though, if you have a bad case of vertigo.
The resort’s terrace sits SO high on the mountaintop, it’s above the clouds.
Views from said terrace are heavenly.
It’s not not to imagine angels or aliens flying past at a moment’s notice.
Although the Unkai Terrace is breathtakingly beautiful, you’ll want to be careful if you’re ever admiring the view.
Let's quit our job and fly over to Japan and work there instead. Who wouldn't want to work in such a heavenly palace?
Why does Japan always get the cool stuff?
