The 2013 Taiwan Cycling Festival will be held from 9 November (Saturday) to 17 November (Sunday), 2013. When it comes to the competitive Taiwan KOM Challenge, participants will climb from altitude zero at Qixingtan in Hualien to 3,275 meters at Hehuan Mountain; the route includes a great variety of amazing scenery, making this a unique extreme cycling challenge. These sports activities not only challenge one's stamina but also one's strength.
On 9 November, eleven groups will be invited to depart from 7 locations for a 9-day/8-night bike tour around Taiwan. Special groups will participate such as Female group, Disabled persons group, Senior cyclists group etc. If you are not a professional cyclist, you can take part in the Sun Moon Lake Come! Bikeday tour to experience the beautiful scenery of the Sun Moon Lake Round-the-Lake Highway, which is also one of the world's 10 best bike routes.
Furthermore, during the Taiwan Cycling Festival, many biking tours have been organized by Yilan County, Hualien County, Taitung County and Taichung County, as well as the Tourism Bureau National Scenic Area Administrations of Sun Moon Lake, North coast and Guanyinshan, Northeast Coast, Tri-mountain, East Rift Valley, Siraya, and East Coast. These exciting tours include Dapu Creative Bike Festival, Biking the Northeast Coast - Yilan Cycling Excursion, Biking Tour of Tribal Villages and Xiuguluan River Rafting, and East Rift Valley Biking Carnival.
